According to statistics, one in three children in North Carolina are growing up in a home without the presence of a father figure. While most children are in homes with married couples, a significant number have no benefit of a fatherly influence. That factor is having an impact on our society. It leaves a void in a child’s life which often results in failure to learn skills necessary to succeed in life. It can also have spiritual ramifications. The Bible explicitly teaches that God is our heavenly Father. Should we be deprived of a relationship with an earthly father, it can be very difficult to appreciate and benefit from a relationship with God. Let’s be thankful for our earthly fathers and do all we can for those who cannot be thankful.
