Thoughts of Mother’s Day reminded me of a tradition when I was growing up. We would wear a red or white rose to church. Red roses were worn in appreciation of our living mothers, or white roses were worn in remembrance of those mothers who were deceased. It was a touching tribute, but never intended to replace taking time to express or remember our love for our mothers. A card, a call or a visit might be a privilege you can still enjoy. Perhaps a gravesite visit or some photographs will have to suffice. But whatever the connection, be sure to take the time to thank God for your mother.
