When a child asks a parent for something, there are at least three possible answers. One is yes, one is no, and one is not now. Each is an answer to the request, and even if it is not the desired answer, it is still an answer. Obviously, prayer is no different. As God’s children, we need to know that God cannot answer yes to all of our prayers. While it is true that God is all-powerful (omnipotent), there are situations when even that will not work. What if two of His children asked for the same house? Could this be the reason we are taught to pray: Your will be done?
