If you were to research the origin of the phrase, A picture is worth a thousand words, the results would be confusing at best. Several variations of the phrase are attributed to different people. The one I like best is attributed to Napolean Bonaparte which was first translated, A good sketch is better than a long speech.
Obviously, Jesus knew the visual created by participating in the Lord’s Supper would be far better than a multiplicity of words. As believers, words miss the mark of fully conveying what Jesus did for us on the cross. Jesus gave us a simple way of remembering with the bread and the cup.
