A brief history of First Methodist Church of Maiden
What is now First Methodist Church of Maiden, North Carolina, was organized in 1890. The first building was built in 1893 at the present location on North Main Avenue. First Methodist has undergone numerous changes in its one hundred and thirty years of existence, including the most withdrawal from the United Methodist denomination in January of 2023. We are in the process of grounding our faith and practices on Biblical principles and on the convictions of the founders of the Methodist movement. We have chosen to maintain an independent status and to follow our foundational roots of our Methodist tradition.
