First Methodist Church Maiden Leadership

The Church Council of First Methodist Church is elected to lead in determining the government and direction of the Church. The present Council is working to reestablish a constitution and bylaws in order to maintain an organizational structure through which we may effectively serve Jesus Christ and the Maiden community.

Dr. Ray Rummage

Pastor

Ray Rummage accepted the call to serve as pastor of First Methodist Church Maiden in June of 2023. He served three churches in the first twenty years of his ministry, and has given his time recently to the teaching ministries of local churches.

Pastor Ray was licensed and ordained into the ministry by Anderson Grove Baptist Church through the Southern Baptist Convention. He received his education at Gardner-Webb University (Associative Arts Degree), Wake Forest University (Bachelor of Arts Degree), and graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees.

As pastor of First Methodist, Pastor Ray will seek to present the truth of God’s word to our congregation and those who choose to share with our fellowship. He feels it imperative that Christians know the Bible and use its teachings to guide them to love and serve God. He firmly believes that loving and serving God will ultimately lead Christians to effective ministry in our community, our country and our world.

Pastor Ray and his wife Penny have four children, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Time with family and church family is very important to them.

Pastor Ray and our church family covet your prayers as we move forward, seeking God’s direction. We feel there has never been a more critical time for the church to share the gospel, and we desire to share in God’s work to accomplish that task.
